While other Tai Po eateries such as Yat Lok have become famous, Ah Poh Dau Fu Fa (Granny's Tofu Pudding), nestled between the fruit vendors in the shadow of the Tai Po market building, remains a secret shared by local foodies. Ah Poh serves the best tofu pudding around, offering a real taste of old school Hong Kong street food. There are those who prefer their pudding warm; I'm firmly in the chilled camp. Topped with brown sugar syrup it makes a perfect snack. There can be a long line, especially at lunch time, but they keep things moving fast and it's well worth the wait.
