The Pulse, Shop 103-104, G/F, 28 Beach Road, Repulse Bay, 2866 8668

Located at The Pulse, Repulse Bay's new mall, Limewood is just steps away from the beach. The boathouse-themed eatery is split into two areas - a bar with high tables on one side and the main restaurant area on the other, with huge windows spanning both, taking advantage of the view and the sea breeze.

On the menu is a mix of Caribbean, Hawaiian, South American and Southeast Asian seaside fare, divided into cold, hot, meats, whole fish, sides and desserts. Recommended are the pomegranate and watermelon (HK$120) or burnt calamansi and salted plum (HK$110) margaritas and the barbecued pineapple Cuban mojito (HK$90). There is a good selection of wines by glass or carafe, and craft beers.

Portions are large and great for sharing. We ordered six daily fresh rock oysters from France, served with calamansi, ponzu, scallion and quail egg (HK$45 each) and the Vietnamese crab salad (HK$125) with creamed coconut corn, shishiso pepper and toasted nuts. We also enjoyed the Vietnamese fish taco (HK$135) - lightly battered fish pieces with avocado, lime and Asian slaw. For mains, we shared the tender barbecued Australian wagyu 32oz prime rib (HK$1,280), served with green chilli chimichurri and roasted garlic, and we were offered a free snack when the wait took a bit too long. For dessert, you won't be disappointed with the hand piped churros with coconut ice cream and salted caramel (HK$90).
