Healthy Mediterranean fare at The Kinnet Cafe in Sheung Wan

Light and healthy Mediterranean

Cosy and light, with a beautiful Moroccan-inspired tiled dessert and salad station and a spacious outdoor terrace.

Two lunch sets plus desserts and an extra smoothie came to HK$425.

Workout buddies and health-conscious friends.

The set lunches came with a bowl of carrot and fennel soup, two choices of salads and a main. We opted for the daily roast - which was tender slices of beef - and the roasted organic chicken. The beef was flavourful and still pink in the middle, the way we like it. We also enjoyed the chicken, which was juicy and had a delicious hint of rosemary. For the sides, we liked the generous portions of creamy mixed mushrooms, roasted sweet potatoes, char-grilled broccoli and cauliflower, and tofu and kale salad. The cafe also serves breakfast until 11am, and we spied a house-made maple-roasted granola on that menu, which came with organic yoghurt, mixed-berry compote and local honey. The avocado eggs Benedict with a yoghurt-based hollandaise sauce also made our mouths water.

Dessert was an extra HK$40. The kiwi lemon tart was tangy and sweet, but the chocolate cake was a bit dry.

A selection of organic wines, freshly pressed juices and smoothies, including the ultimate summer thirst quencher - a berry açaí smoothie with apple, blueberry, pineapple, beetroot and açaí.
