From fine-dining to rustic Italian - Ee Da Le means Italy in Cantonese - Harlan Goldstein has come up with the goods yet again. Ee Da Le is the first of four outlets he is opening in the same building on Lyndhurst Terrace. Designed by AB Concepts, the interior is contemporary with some classic touches - we liked the opera-skirt lamps.

The menu features a selection of home-style pastas, meats and seafood. My favourite starters were the char-grilled octopus marinated with herbs with baby gem, mashed potatoes and olives (HK$178) and the tuna carpaccio with shaved duck liver, crispy shallot, microgreens and orange citrus (HK$188). The flavours really stood out.

The citrus flavoured scallops with sea urchin, baby cress, fennel, anchovies and sun dried tomatoes (HK$168) didn't do it for me but we loved the beetroot salad with beet crème fraiche, mixed beets, stracchino and Pistachio lemon yoghurt (HK$138). For mains, and the lobster risotto with Mediterranean lobster, shellfish jus, basil and parmigiano (HK$338) was perfectly cooked.

The king crab spaghetti with sea urchin and garlic herb crumbs (HK$288) was my favourite pasta dish and we really liked the free range chicken for two roasted in rosemary and lemon with crispy cotechino sausage, pepperonata and garlic jus (HK$368), which was tender and juicy.

The desserts were definitely decadent, especially My Canneloni with sweet ricotta, chocolate crema, candied fruit and pistachio ice cream (HK$68) and the Italian cream puff with Nutella vanilla custard and warm chocolate sauce (HK68). There is a good selection of Italian wines and cocktails.
