LITTLE CREATURES 5a New Praya Road, Kennedy Town, 2833-5611 From the ambience to the portions, everything is big at this amped-up microbrewery/restaurant. Little Creatures - from Fremantle, Perth - subscribes to the craft beer movement. It occupies 6,000 sq ft of a former flour and sugar warehouse that faces the sea. Spacious and lofty, it has an industrial warehouse look with huge exposed pipes running across the ceilings. An open kitchen offers all-day dining and large rectangular wooden tables indicate that big groups and families will be comfortable here. What catches the eye is the bar behind which the process of crafting the beers Little Creatures is famed for, takes place in towering metal drums. There are 11 beers on the menu with three classic Little Creatures beers brewed on-site (HK$65-HK$78/pint) including the signature Pale Ale. Six 100ml pours of different beers on a beer paddle, costs HK$100. If beer is not your beverage of choice, wines from Australia are available by the small or big glass (HK$65-HK$142). Little Creatures aims to be a neighbourhood family diner, so most items on the menu are designed to be shared. We tried the buttery corn on the cob sprinkled with quinoa (HK$65) and the crispy chicken (HK$125). Both starters were great. The delicious wood-fired pizzas (HK$18 to HK$24) were well executed. The steamed blue mussels (HK$165) were fresh and delicious and for something substantial, we had lamb shops with sausages (HK$320). Conclusion: the food's good, there was a great ambience and the staff were friendly. Worth another visit.
