FARE British. AMBIENCE The Envoy is a classy and tastefully decorated restaurant and bar with a sizeable outdoor seating area. COST The Sunday Brunch dishes range from HK$158 to HK$228 and offers finger food, from truffle fries (HK$88) to sampler boards and platters (up to HK$328). WHO TO BRING Ideal for unrushed quality time with friends. TURN-ONS The décor is chic with comfortable sofas, eye-catching chandeliers and a subtle colonial feel. The menu is simple and straightforward. The Envoy’s new colonial-inspired Sunday brunch includes Belacan linguini butter chicken waffles which are well worth trying and scallop and nestum prawns with pandan latte. For those seeking a meatier option, there is the seared slow-cooked New Zealand lamb rump or roast of the day. We went for the traditional English breakfast consisting of spicy organic pork sausages, fried eggs, bacon, sautéed potatoes, cherry tomatoes and more. We also went for the eggs Benedict, which were predictable. The free flow Champagne goes well with any dish, and coffee or tea is included with all mains. TURN-OFFS The restaurant and cocktail bar opens at noon, we arrived a little before noon and waited awkwardly in the small hallway - between the lifts and the restaurant doors on the third floor. In case you do arrive early, it is best to make yourself comfortable in the lobby area until it is past noon. DRINKS Free-flow red or white wine, and Perrier-Jouët Brut Champagne comes at HK$208 and HK$268, respectively. Non-alcoholic drinks are served at HK$28 for the pandan latte or yin yang latte.
