Tosca’s sea tiramisu

Tosca’s subtle flavours hit all the right spots

Fine dining and stunning views from the 102nd floor of the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong

FARE Innovative dishes with Italian influences. AMBIENCE High up in The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, the classy, light and airy atmosphere still maintains an intimate, romantic feel. COST HK$1,308 per person for a four-course meal, or HK$1,708 per person for six courses. WHO TO BRING A romantic date or guests to impress for an evening of fine dining and stunning views from the 102nd floor. TURN-ONS We sat down to a lovely appetiser of green and white asparagus with goat cheese, which was surprisingly mild in flavour and a great opening to our meal. The star of the night for us though was the sea tiramisu - a signature savoury tiramisu dish of red prawn carpaccio and seared scallops with caviar. This unexpectedly subtle dish had flavours that left a tingling sensation on our tongues. We were then served a delightfully creamy tortellini with burrata, broccoli and anchovies. The main course was a succulent and tender basil and pesto crusted lamb, green beans, goat cheese and black garlic, which was paired perfectly with a glass of Arpepe 2011 Sassella Stella Retica Riserva red wine. We were feeling full by this stage, but could not leave without trying dessert. We opted for a sweet tiramisu, which hit the right spot and was a delectable finish to a wonderful dinner. TURN-OFFS Dish portions are small, but that is understandable since it’s a fine-dining establishment. It’s also quiet in the restaurant, so boisterous conversations would stand out. DRINKS: Good selection of Italian and other wines.
