Mott 32 – an Aladdin’s cave of Cantonese delights
- The restaurant boasts a varied menu and award-winning interior design, which highlights the history of Hong Kong and China

FARE Contemporary Cantonese
AMBIENCE Winner of a number of interior design awards, Mott 32 has a gorgeous interior, starting from the mirrored descent down into the Standard Chartered Bank’s former vaults, which house the restaurant. Visual clues throughout seek to illuminate the history of the space and the imaginary people who may have utilised it, whether wealthy Chinese immigrants or humble security staff. Thus Chinese porcelain and vases – heirlooms, perhaps – sit atop traditional English moulding shelves, and murals of figures like Sun Yat-sen adorn the walls, highlighting the history of Hong Kong and China. Within this intimate underground setting, the combined effect makes for an Aladdin’s cave of delights, with enticing visual hooks all around.
