The Ultimate Spa Experience

Mainland artist JinR is a genius when it comes to business—she opened the innovative and gorgeous Chinese restaurant, Green T. House, in Beijing in 1997. Then she went on to open the luxurious boutique hotel Green T. House Living—based on the same design and styles, making it an exclusive accommodation of choice for in-the-know Beijing visitors. Her newest thing is a lovely spa located in the residence. To beat the autumn chill of Beijing, her spa incorporates warming elements of ginger into its treatments. All of the treatments last for four hours, and all include a green tea and sea salt scrub for 45 minutes, a green tea bath in their rooftop bathhouse for 30 minutes, and a Valmont hydrating facial and head massage, on top of a regular massage. Priced at RMB2,388-6,688. Green T. House Living, 318 Cuige Zhuang Xiang Hege Zhuang Cun, Chaoyang District, Beijing, (86-10) 6434-2519.

Our First Taste of Christmas

Get a headstart on Christmas with this pre-pre-pre-holiday special spa treatment from the Mandarin Spa at the Mandarin Oriental, available now. The Christmas Precious Oil Rituals aromatherapy program has two kinds of 90-minute treatments—the first is the Inner Peace Ritual, which makes use of frankincense and myrrh extracts, which have long been used in traditional Chinese, African and Indian practices to strengthen the immune system. The second is the Uplift and Energise Ritual, which uses clementine and ginger essential oils. Both treatments start with the aromatherapy massage, followed by a body wrap with a white clay mask that contains sweet almond, kaolin, apricot oil, aloe leaf juice, calendula, marshmallow and St John’s wort. Finally it comes with a mini facial and soothing scalp acupressure massage. You also receive two Christmas oils to take home. Each treatment is priced at HK$1,500 and will be available until January 31. Mandarin Spa, Mandarin Oriental, 5 Connaught Rd., Central, 2522-0111.

The New Immortelle Divine facial is a luxurious treatment that uses myrtle to supposedly catalyze cell renewal. The draining and contouring massage techniques used in this treatment will also help rejuvenate your skin. Priced at $1,300 for 90 minutes.
