A photobook project by Mary Lee

“The term ‘Post-80s’ (‘baat sap hau’ in Cantonese) has recently became mainstream and used as a popular noun in the local media. In the digital age, almost every post-80s kid owns a camera, and taking portraits is no longer only reserved for special occasions, nor is it the privilege of a professional photographer”— or so says Mary Lee, a post-80s art librarian.
She’s compiled a collection of portraits of people born in the 80s, via LOMO, Polaroid, pinhole camera or Fuji Mini, taken by various photographers, artists, and people who have no relationships with photographers or artists. Some images from the book have been excerpted above and on our cover.
