Complete Deelite

Tucked away in the madness of Lan Kwai Fong, you’ll find this cute little cupcake shop whipping up daily batches of their ten flavors, including “Lemonlicious” and “Juicy Rasberry”. Their popular “Choco-Fluff” is a moist chocolate cake balanced with a swirl of Valrhona buttercream. Owner Jacinta Yu specializes in cupcakes for personal and corporate events. Her unique 3D cupcakes  are topped with buttercream and fondant, and sculpted into shapes upon request. They’ve made everything from ducks and bees for the kiddies to Chanel purses and high heels for the tai-tais.

COCO at The Mira

The chic patisserie at the trendy Mira hotel has an eclectic mix of 21 unique creations, but they only offer a selection of six cakes daily. Maybe you’ll get a chance to try the “Strawberry Silk,” which is made with walnuts, strawberry marmalade and Baileys mousse. Or you’ll end up with the “Go-Berry,” a blueberry cake topped with mango mousse. Chef Thomas Lui makes his cupcakes in small, frequent batches to maintain freshness, and whips up his toppings with creamy mascarpone cheese so they won’t be too sweet and sugary. Try the staff favorite, “Warming Heart,” which is crowned with creamy Kalamansi chocolate and features a chili truffle center that packs a spicy little kick. Cupcake credit crunch? Go after 7pm for their buy-two-get-two-free deal.

Sift

Sift offers fifteen varieties of gourmet cupcakes. Owner Jennifer Cheung uses only the highest quality ingredients from around the world, such as Madagascar bourbon vanilla extract and fresh French butter. If that’s not epicurean enough for you, the Sift team bakes up small batches of cakes every three to four hours. Their most sought-after variety is the Southern Red Velvet which has a fluffy texture and is topped with a thick swirl of cream cheese frosting flecked with vanilla.
