Color me hungry...

2-MIN READ2-MIN

Easy for her to say...she wasn’t the one dangling upside down on some medieval-torture device.

In all fairness, neither was I...but it sure felt like it at the time. The contraption I was hooked onto was a Gyrotonics machine, designed for a pilates/yoga-like workout that was much harder than it looked.

But one glance at Beth, with her washboard abs and sun-kissed tan, was inspiration enough to give this a try. I drew small circles with my toes in the air while keeping my bum lifted with the “power of the core” and taking the recommended “deeeep breeeaths.” Man, this was some hardcore acrobatics.

“You got it! Let’s do a couple reps of those,” Beth instructed. To distract me from the ever-intensifying burn in my hamstrings, she told me about her new beau—an Australian, semi-famous actor (who was friends with the late Heath Ledger apparently).

“He’s got this laminated card that he keeps in his pocket. There’s a chart on it that separates different foods into color groups. Reds, greens, yellows and whites... And he can only eat from one color group each day of the week,” she smirked. “Anyway, he swears by it.”

I interrupted – “HOW MANY REPS WAS THAT?! Please (gasp for air) tell me you kept count.”
