“Dew” Diligence Facial at Bliss Spa
Going to the Bliss Spa at W is an experience in and of itself. It is, after all, the highest spa in Hong Kong, if not the world. I couldn’t remember the last time I was that high up, and when the express lift shot me to the 72nd floor, my hillbilly ears were even ringing a little.
Bliss Spa, unlike most local spas, features a funky New York chic style instead of the usual Thai or Zen. Sky blue is the theme color of the Bliss brand and you better believe this place is replete in shades of azure. We were led upstairs through the lounge to a spacious changing room where we sat on a comfy couch admiring a magnificent view of the harbor and listening to mellow blues music. The facial is called “Dew” Diligence which, according to the promotional material, is a traditional facial with “a Bliss twist.” We’re not quite sure what the twist was, but after a quick analysis of our face, the therapist started the usual facial routine using products that fit our skin type: cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and finally a treatment mask to rejuvenate the skin. While the mask soaked in, the therapist massaged our shoulders, legs, arms and feet. After the facial we were led back to the lounge, where we sipped lemonade and munched brownies while flipping through the latest fashion bibles. Jeez, we could have sworn we were in a café rather than fresh out of a spa.
