Culture Club
Although the artistic types hanging round Culture Club encourage dancing whenever the mood strikes, it really takes center stage when “Red Tango Night” rolls around on the second Saturday of each month. The popular gathering is a great opportunity to socialize and get physical, too. If you really want to bone up on your tango know-how and impress by adding a few tricks to your repertoire, head to the tango workshops every Sunday and Monday starting from April 20. The intimate venue also regularly hosts art exhibitions, so there is plenty to distract you if you find yourself getting hot and bothered.

Grappa’s Cellar
Many know Grappa's for its comforting Italian food, but few know of the swing culture that’s been slowly but surely taking root there. Be warned: the uptempo jive style means you need to be quick on your feet. For the truly hopeless, free classes are held every Wednesday night courtesy of HK Swings, and for advanced swingers, the Stray Katz Big Band plays every first Saturday of the month. The friendly bar atmosphere and a glass of Chianti should have even the most club-footed wallflower tapping their toes in no time.

Cliq
Whether you’re a snake-hipped lothario or a shuffling, ungainly embarrassment, the mambo and salsa night held every Monday at Cliq is a must for all with a spring in their step, real or imaginary. Mambo lessons run from 8pm to 9pm but DJ Michelle continues to play Afro-Cuban infused beats until the early hours, so there’s plenty of time to practice what you learned in class with a willing (or not-so-willing) partner.
