I was born in China and moved to Hong Kong when I was nine.
I had a hard time getting into a primary school since it was mid-term, and I had never been to school in China.
I couldn’t read or write, or even speak Cantonese.  I ended up at a local school that was kind enough to accept me as an over-aged Primary One student.
I had to be very motivated because I’m the oldest of four girls in the family. I had to lead by example and help raise my sisters.
How old am I? Are you going to write it? A yogi has no age and won’t age, haha...
Now I have a husband five years younger than I am and I’m working on agelessness!
Love at first sight – sure, but my first sight is a long one.
I will look at the person, skim down and stop at his hands. If a man has very nice hands and tidy nails, then his person is tidy and organized. I need to have a person like that in my life.
My first yoga class was in 1999 or 2000. I liked it because of the challenge - I realized I couldn’t do most of the poses they were teaching.
I've done so many different kinds of sports all my life; I thought I could probably do everything. But no.
I desperately needed to improve my balance and flexibility. So I kept going back.
I’ve only been teaching for about five years. I’m still in the beginning of my yoga development path – I have a lot to learn to deepen my practice mentally and spiritually.
So I’m still pretty much a very common woman, not too much of a levitating yogi yet.
Yoga will always be part of my life - I like it and I want to share what I love with people.
Some people say yoga helps your sex life. I don’t promote this but when a person is healthy and has good body awareness, it could benefit any physical activity.
It’s disappointing to see so many yoga advertisements in Hong Kong. Sexy and elegant is one thing; sweaty T&A and cheesy poses is something else.
Looks matter in every industry. But every individual is unique.
I was a model since 1991 and then got into acting in 1997.
When I was approached by the founders of Pure to help set up the company, I agreed because I was a single mom and ready to move away from the movie business which has really unstable schedules and often an unhealthy working environment.
My biggest career disappointment was as an actress when, at one point, my management company stopped offering work for me because I didn’t follow some of their demands.
Not because I couldn’t perform, but simply because I didn’t listen to advice that was not reasonable.
They wanted to control my personal life. Like, you’re not supposed to show up with your boyfriend when the press is around and many other things.
It happens in Hong Kong - when you don’t do something the management thinks is right, they will block you out from work as punishment.
It’s important to stand up for your opinion and what you believe in.
But honestly, if it wasn’t for that experience, I don’t think I would be in the position I am in today.
It’s just like that movie “Sliding Doors.” Get on the train, don’t get on the train... you’ll never know what would have happened.
I used to be the kind of woman who, given an entire alley of shops, would go into the first shop and buy the first thing I saw.
Now, I take the time to realize my options.
Be aggressively good. I try to push myself, but I don’t want to reach to the point where I hurt others along the way.
You don’t want to miss out on your kid growing up. I traveled way too much as an 
actress during the first six months of my daughter’s life.
My daughter has been doing [yoga] since three years old. She is now six and she likes it.
She knows all the moves. She used to do demos with me.
She knows a lot for sure, but you know kids.
Having kids is a blessing of course, and it’s amazing. Sometimes it’s like a mirror to who you are.
When I see my daughter, sometimes I see myself in her, like her impatience. Then I’ll remind myself, “Oh, I’m like that, I need to be better.”
