Luk Yu Tea House (24-26, Stanley St., Central, 2523-5464). “It’s been operating since 1933, and I love the retro ambience and the authenticity of the yumcha experience.”

Lin Heung (160-164 Wellington St., Central, 2544-2556). “Another vestige of old-school Hong Kong yumcha, but this one’s more gritty, chaotic and real. Greasy and delicious.”

Lock Cha Tea House (G/F, K.S. Lo Gallery, Hong Kong Park, Admiralty). “This used to be the tea museum in Hong Kong Park, and now it’s a modern teahouse. Delicate vegetarian dim sum is served with premium teas.”

Song Cha Xie (Pine Tea House) (Nan Lian Garden, 60 Fung Tak Rd., Diamond Hill, Kowloon, 3658-9390). ”Sit amid the trellised windows and sip quality tea in the exquisite Tang-style gardens next to the Chi Lin Nunnery. They have veggie tea snacks, and it reminds me of Kyoto.”

Spring Moon (1/F, The Peninsula, Salisbury Rd., Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, 2315-3160). “A lux version of yumcha. The dim sum and the quality teas are really first-class. Tea-masters will recommend the best blend to go with your dishes.”
