Yun Fu

Yun Fu

The next big cocktail trend will probably involve the use of Chinese spirits, and when it happens, Yun Fu will be remembered as the first ones to do it. This restaurant-bar serves up drinks with bamboo or rose wines, and spirits like vodka or rum infused with plum or ginseng. The décor is antique Chinese meets contemporary – think red woods and old-style sliding doors with granite floors and blacks. It's a gorgeous place for dinner with drinks after.

Avenue Joffre

Décor-wise, this Shanghainese restaurant and bar works that old East-West fusion vibe and has the cocktails to match. Though primarily a restaurant serving up great Shanghai classics, the Joffre also features a front bar serving up plenty of Chinese rice wine cocktails as well as wines by the glass. Open till 1am on Saturdays.
G/F, 9-11 Kingston St., Causeway Bay, 2882-6001

Water Margin

This northern Chinese place is gorgeous, decorated with sheer silks and featuring a golden pavilion for Chinese puppet performances. Chinese wine-based cocktails include Red Thunder (Shaoxing and rum with pickled lime, rose and orange) and the Jade Unicorn (Chu Yeh Ching, Triple Sec, lime and preserved plum). Delicious.
