Top Five: Gourmet

1. Ning Po Restaurant (4/F, Yip Fung Building, D’aguilar St., Central, 2523-0648). “Very few people know that this treasure is open not only to members, but also to the public. The steamed xiao lung bao and yim duk sheen soup are really mouth-watering.”

2. Forum Restaurant (485 Lockhart Rd., Causeway Bay, 2891-2555). “Ah Yat, King of Abalone, also offers a list of delicately prepared dim sum for lunch. Order goose’s feet braised in abalone sauce and serve it with a bowl of steamed long grain rice.”

3. Coffee Shop (Grand Café, Grand Hyatt Hotel, 1 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, 2588-1234). “This is NO generic coffee shop! Try their Hainan chicken - it’s the best in town. Forget about the decoration because there’s so much to look at through the glass window.”

4. Jin Luo Bao Korean Restaurant (Units R1-R3, 6/F, Inland Beverley Commercial Centre, 1 Great Geroge St., Causeway Bay, 2895-3986). “The restaurant occupies the entire floor with spacious tables for the BBQ. Kalbetong is my favorite but everything they serve there is authentic and tasty.”

5. Sabatini Ristorante Italiano (3/F, Royal Garden Hotel, 69 Mody Rd., Tsim Sha Tsui East, 2733-2000). “There’s so much resemblance to its sister restaurant in Florence in terms of decoration - colored glass, terracotta floor tiles, and its antipasto table is already a major attraction. Try their roast spring chicken and pasta. You’re in heaven!”
