Joint 15
Early every Sat and Sun morning, clubbers who aren’t ready to leave the night behind can groove on with some a.m. dance music at Joint 15. DJs Frankie Lam and Ballball have regular gigs here, dropping house, trance and progressive tunes well into the hours of first light. The after party gets going at about 5am, but the Joint kicks off around 11pm with a rotating roster of DJs. Bonus: Joint 15 is also a restaurant, serving up a French dinner from 7pm-11pm. $100 entry. Open Mon-Thu 5pm-4am, Sat-Sun 5pm-very late. 1/F, Ming An Plaza Phase 1, 8 Sunning Ave, Causeway Bay, 2810-7229.
Bling
Even though this club was christened long after its namesake lost its hip and edgy connotation, it’s still a decent place to while away the early hours of the day. Who needs breakfast when you can have a free drink with your entry fee instead? Bling is an R&B joint early in the night, but the after party goes from around 4:30am when the DJs switch to house and progressive music. The $120 entry includes one drink. Open Mon-Thu 6pm-2am, Fri-Sat 6pm-very late. 3/F, SoHo Square, 21 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central, 3102-2066.
Homebase
One of the most venerable institutions of the Hong Kong clubbing scene, Homebase doesn’t even get going until the sun’s about to come up. The stalwart DJs keep on spinning through the night and early morning, playing house, breaks and progressive tunes. The speakers aren’t the best, but at least there’s a wide sofa with big, comfy cushions to hug in case you get tired. Girls get in free, but guys have to cough up $100 entry, which does at least come with a free drink. Open Wed-Thu 12-6am, Fri-Sat midnight-9am. 2/F, 23 Hollywood Rd., Central, 2545-0023.
