60 Seconds with Audiotraffic

Adrian and Don play in local pop-rock band Audiotraffic.

Favorite HK noise:
Don: The man shouting down the road selling tofu desert... Tofuuu Faaaaaan!
Adrian: Sirens in the distance... if they're too close, that can't be good.

In your pockets:
A: There was an old tissue in my back pocket. Pretty gross.
Stupidest trend:
A: That dressing up like a French maid Japanese-style thing. Please stay home if you plan on wearing that kind of thing.

On Hong Kong audiences:
A: They like to mosh and do so at any given opportunity. As for dancing, they don't really do that. It's either sitting or moshing. Or sleeping.

On being in a band:
A: Harder than you would expect but still more enjoyable than anything else.

Bad audience:
D: When my friends try to put me off with odd faces.
A: Only if you look at them because they are usually just sitting there like gormless erections.

In 20 years:
D: Probably going through a mid-life crisis and convincing myself I’m still twenty- something.
A: 46.

Day job:
D: Part-time pre-primary school teacher.
A: Freelance voice-overs.

On groupies:
D: Audiotraffic groupies? Does my girlfriend count? I think you’d have to pay us to get that kind of story.
A: We’re each others groupies. No stories to tell. We’re apparently too scary to talk to, so we rarely meet any.

You’re in HK Magazine:
A: Because HK is so small, we probably know half the staff there?

Audiotraffic play Edge on Thu Apr 27.
