A hot new French fashion boutique opens at The Landmark

Watch out Joyce, there’s a new fashionista in town. Her name is Nicole, she’s from Gay Paree, and you can find her in The Landmark. This brand-new French select store offers Hong Kong tai-tais andstyle mavens hot, upcoming fashion labels that are sophisticated and understatedly glam. The founder and owner of the new boutique is none other than mademoiselle Nicole Forissier, a fashion guru and retail specialist with well over 30 years of experience in luxury fashion brands. The boutique puts forth a well chosen but wide range of young and talented designers, mostly from France, some from Europe—such as Melinda Gloss. Popular already in Japan, Gloss’s creations have a laid-back edginess that melds together city and country wear; and Cotélac, formerly a women’s collection (now with a men’s line as well), with its earthy tones of azure and mossy green. And of course, the boutique carries Forissier’s own brand. Nicole is a collection of fine-quality cashmere, from gorgeous scarves and vests to cardigans and slip-ons that beg to be layered oh-so casually and chicly.
	The store itself evokes Parisian Art Nouveau in its decorative decadence, but not in a blindingly cluttered fashion. Unique pieces of furniture dating back to late 19th Century are scattered throughout the space. Indeed, the interior décor gives the boutique the ambience of the Art Deco epoch, having been inspired by the works of French artists such as Marc Lalique, Gilbert Poillerat, Jean Beaumont and Pierre Chareau, the architect of the legendary “Maison de Verre” (The Glass House). A simply gorgeous space that practically begs the shopper to lose themselves in for a while.
