Lush Christmas
Gotta love those ladies at Chopsticks Concept. The PR firm specializes in beauty brands, and they really know how to throw a party, as evidenced by last week’s bash at Balalaika to launch Lush’s new Christmas gift sets. We stepped into a winter wonderland jam-packed with Lush staff in kooky xmas getups (special props to the guy in the snowman suit—it takes a real man to wear white tights in the line of duty). They’ve put together more than 25 gifts sets this year. For huge Lush fans, the Wonderful Christmas Time comes with a whopping 24 of their signature seasonal products and costs $1,808.
Scents of Purpose
British skincare brand Aromatherapy Associates had me try out their nifty new website gizmo that tells you the perfect products for your skin type. As someone who usually looks at a beauty counter with rapture and yet simultaneously utter bewilderment, this comes as a welcome tool for helping to sift through the morass of products for things that actually work for my skin. To this end, I was sent a rose exfoliating cleanser and matching rose radiance serum, both of which I love, love, love. Try the product advisor yourself at
www.aromatherapyassociates.com and buy the products at various outlets, including all Sense of Touch and Mandarin Oriental spas.
On Your Bike
Attention all MTBers: Hong Kong will be having its very first mountain bike orienteering competition towards the end of November, so be sure to book your spot asap. Organized by the Hong Kong Multi-Sports Association and the Hong Kong Cycling Sports Coterie, The Hong Kong Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships cum Orienteering Sports Carnival (try saying that three times) will be held in Sai Kung on November 21, with categories for pro athletes and beginners alike. And if you haven’t got a bike? Not to worry: there’s on-foot orienteering for grownups and kids that’ll have you scrambling over the mountainside in glee. Entry forms can be found at
www.hkmsa.hk. But hurry—enrolment closes on Nov 10.
