Dear Mr. Know-It-All, I've just moved here from the UK to play field hockey, but my stick broke in transit! Is there a store in Hong Kong where I'd be able to buy a new one? Please help, I have to start training next week. – Stickless I hate to say it, but you've really put yourself in a sticky situation—badum-tish. Why didn't you insure your gear before you left? Or at the very least pay a little bit more to have it treated as a fragile item on the flight? Never mind now, I have done my research and discovered an excellent store that will cater to your stick-purchasing needs. Sports Depot (Rm. 602B, Opulent Building, 402-406 Hennessy Rd., Wan Chai, 3157-1161) caters specifically for field hockey, and all the staff are fellow hockey players too. They have an excellent range of Grays, Kookaburra, Malik, Adidas and Dita sticks as well as a huge collection of shoes, stick bags, apparel and goal-keeping equipment. Make sure you look after this stick though, Stickless, otherwise I'll be sending you the address of where you can buy super glue next time. Oh, and the website recommends that you take the MTR to Causeway Bay and get out at exit C. Dear Mr. Know-It-All, I’m an amateur photographer and am looking for a group of likeminded photographers to go on a photo-safari. It’s just so much more fun with other people! Is there such a thing here? Where do they meet up? Can you please, PLEASE find some information about this? – Snap Unhappy No need to be a loner, there are hundreds of people who are looking for exactly the same thing. Thanks to the brilliant minds behind Meetup.com, an international website that links up various communities of likeminded enthusiasts and hobbyists, finding a photography club has never been easier. And there’s no need for an invitation, no fees, no strings attached, all you have to do is just show up or not—if only all social situations were that easy.
