Incredible Edible
OK fans, next time you feel compelled to express your adoration (it’s yet to happen, but a girl can dream), save the chocolates and flowers and send me an Edible Arrangement instead. The lovely PR ladies at Prime brought over a posy of beautifully cut and arranged fruits (including pineapple daisies, melon balls, grapes and strawberries—both naked and choc-dipped) for the team last week, eliciting oohs and aahs from everyone in the office. Much better for your waistline, these nutrient-packed bouquets make lovely pressies for anyone who might prefer something more practical than quick-wilting flowers. There are more than 50 arrangements to choose from, costing from around $500 to almost $2,000.

Big Dippers
Italian hair maestro Lorena Severi has hung up her shears at the Mandarin Oriental salon to take up residency at Philip George on Duddell Street. She’s also brought with her this super awesome dip-dye technique, where the ends of your hair are dyed to create a striking contrast with your natural hair color. I’m dying (dyeing?) for hot pink tips, but sadly, as I am imminently to become the official Mrs. M, wild styles are off the cards for the rest of 2011, lest I bring on a swooning fit in my elderly relatives. But if you’re under no such obligation to keep your hair tame, the dip-dye starts at $1,500.

Slim Pickings
If you’ve got a few pounds you’d like to lose, but haven’t got the confidence to go it alone, then why not join Cambridge Weight Plan’s Slimmer of the Year competition? This two-tier competition pitches Hong Kong dieters against slimmers from 20 other countries in a challenge to lose a combined total of 2,011 pounds between March 10 and September 30, though you can sign up to take part any time between those dates. Also, Hong Kong’s most successful slimmer will win an all-expenses-paid trip to London to compete in the International Slimmer of the Year competition, a year’s free pass to Seasons Fitness Kowloon Bay, and also an opportunity to revamp his or her wardrobe with a free Colour Me Beautiful consultation. To enter, call up Cambridge Weight Plan and book an appointment with a consultant, who’ll perform an assessment of your medical history and talk about your goals, before recommending a program for you to follow based around their nutritional meal replacements. The initial consultation is $500, but all subsequent meetings are free. The first 20 signups will win a goodie bag stuffed with $500 worth of Cambridge Weight Plan meal replacement bars, a food diary, 50 percent off a Colour Me Beautiful consultation and more.
