Upclose with Jacques Audiard

French writer-director Jacques Audiard is a four-time César Award-winner. Famous for his masterful crime dramas, he has also been regarded as “the French Scorsese.” His last two films, “The Beat That My Heart Skipped” and last year’s global cinema sensation, “A Prophet,” are both featured in “Noir,” the film program of this year’s Le French May. The lively and outspoken auteur talks to Penny Zhou about youth, career and crime.
