Hong Kong Restaurant Week is coming! For a full week from July 11 to July 17, a whole bunch of restaurants will be getting together to offer enticing set price lunches and dinners for all the foodies in our city. It’s kinda like the Springalicious event I wrote about just a couple months ago, and you know what, the more there are of deals like these, the merrier for us. Restaurant Week is actually a brand that made its debut in New York City 13 years ago and has since spread to many other American cities as well as cities across Asia and Europe. Hong Kong Restaurant Week (www.restaurantweek.hk), organized by the global dining platform Diningcity.com, is officially sponsored by American Express—so all Amex cardholders will get priority booking privileges (Woohoo!).

To date, the list is about two dozen restaurants long, but I’m told it’ll keep growing up until the event. Café de Paris, Chez Patrick, FINDS, Pure Bar+Restaurant, Sakesan, Azure and the Michelin-starred Hoi King Heen are examples of the participants that have already signed up. Pricing is roughly $158 for lunch and $298 for dinner—unless it’s at a starred restaurant, in which case the charge will go up by increments of $100 per star. I’m sure you all can do the math, but just to paint it clearer: dinner at a resto like Hoi King Heen will be $398 per person due to its one star status, $498 if the place has two stars, etc. Go online starting June 22 at 10am to make your reservations.
