Hong Kong Magazine: What inspires you to travel?
Matthew Lui: Unique cultures, good food, new hotels located in resort towns, and sunshine and the beach of course.

HK: What are some of your favourite destinations?
ML: All the islands in south east asia, anywhere in Japan, and Hangzhou and Lijiang in the mainland.

HK: Most valued travel tips for yourself and/or others?
ML: When you are young be brave and explore; everything is worth a try. Get on a wrong bus/tram, get lost, get cheated by a cunning taxi driver, get pick pocketed, buy overcharged food and drinks...these are all good lesson to make you become smarter and more skillful in dealing with different situations.

HK: What do you miss about Hong Kong while you are away?
ML: My family!

HK: What aspect of traveling do you find the most difficult to do?
ML: Any domestic flight and anywhere Cathay Pacific or Dragonair doesn't go.

HK: How do you maintain health and fitness when you are away?
ML: Stay away from smoking, don’t drink too much wine and refrain from karaoke-ing. Swimming and Thai massages can help too.
