RA Restaurant and Lounge is the city's newest addition to the very tiny selection of Middle Eastern restaurants in Hong Kong (taking into account both sides of the harbor).
Named after the ancient Egyptian Sun God, RA Restaurant and Lounge aims to bring authentic Egyptian cuisine and Mediterranean flairs to the bustling East Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront.
RA features three main spaces - the indoor dining area (complete with contemporary Egyptian stone carvings in a dimly lit setting), the VIP room (styled as a Moroccan den) and the outdoor area (for a good view of the skyline as you smoke away at your hookah!). And of course no Middle Eastern restaurant is complete in Hong Kong without a bellydancing performance, which you can expect at RA every Friday and Saturday night starting at 9:30pm.
Chef Maged hails from the Sheraton Hotel and the Fairmont Hotel in Cairo and has over 20 years of experience under his belt - I look forward to trying his baba ghanoush - my personal litmus test for any Middle Eastern restaurant!
