Penang Food Festival aboard the Star Pisces
I’m happy to hear that Star Cruises (www.starcruises.com) has organized a Penang Food Festival aboard its Star Pisces vessel from August 8 to 14, using star chefs from Penang to prepare authentic hawker-style dishes. Char kway teow (a fried rice noodle dish with prawns and eggs) is one of the highlights of the show, alongside other Penang classics such as sotong kangkong (cuttlefish and water spinach covered in chili shrimp paste) and loh bak (five-spices pork roll). To partake in the festivities, just climb onboard the temporarily docked Star Pisces via Ocean Terminal’s cruise passenger waiting hall during the promotion period. And no, the boat doesn’t actually go anywhere.
