Hour-Long Overhaul
All the clanging and banging at the old Sense of Touch on Hollywood Road had me feeling very curious for the past few weeks—but now, after a speedy renovation, the Sense of Touch team has unveiled Fast Beauty, a hyper-efficient day spa salon for women that don’t have the time for luxurious, hours-long spa treatments. Fast Beauty promises multiple treatments as spa-goers recline in super-comfy massage chairs. You can simultaneously have several things done at once, such as a mani-pedi, mini facial and tooth-whitening treatment, all within the hour. Sort of reminds me of a Henry Ford production line, but for women, not cars. I haven’t had a chance to head down there yet (too busy) but will endeavor to do so soon. Watch this space.

Buff Brides
A personal trainer once said to me, “Brides are willing to do anything to look better for their wedding.” And I fully believe him. After all, you’re paying a fortune for pictures so you might as well look as good as you can, right? Fiji Fitness has just launched a Bridal Bootcamp every Wednesday at 7:30pm on Brewin Path ($175). Focusing on toning tummies, firming arms and beautifying bottoms, it’s specifically designed for women that want to look their best in their dress. There’s no need to register—just turn up and start working out. I haven’t been myself, because I refuse to jog in public, but who knows… as W-Day draws near, perhaps I will be tempted. If you’re trying to firm up for a special occasion (10-year school reunion? Meeting up with an ex?), then give it a whirl.

Country Run
Remember cross-country runs at school? I don’t—I was always conveniently sick that day. But for people looking to take part in an outdoor fun run, the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (AAA) has a cross-country event coming up on October 2 at 7:30am that’s open to all. Sponsored by Giga Sports, there are categories for both school-aged and adult runners, men and women, with space for 150 in each age category and 1,200 participants in total. The race must be completed within 90 minutes for the adult route, which takes runners around Penny's Bay in Lantau. Make sure to get your application in by September 12 if you want to take part—go on, it’s $60 per head for AAA-registered athletes and $80 for everyone else. Winner of each category gets a $1,000 voucher for Giga Sports!
Register for the race at www.hkaaa.com.
