Affordable Accommodations in Bangkok

The Urban King Room

Starwood Hotels, the brains behind hotel chains the St. Regis, Sheraton, W and Westin (to name a few), recently launched a new brand called Aloft. The idea is to provide modern accommodations that are high-tech, design-savvy and affordable.

They’re spreading faster than that virus in Contagion (unsavory reference, check), because in the 18 months since Aloft first launched, 40 hotels have opened in cities both small (Tulsa, Oklahoma) and large (Abu Dhabi), with many more (London! Phuket! Panama City!) in the pipeline.

Aloft Bangkok, the first outpost in Southeast Asia, opens November 1 and is offering special rates (starting at $530 per night) until the end of March 2012.
