Sometimes, the trawl of the malls and can leave us feeling less than festive. But if you want to get in the swing of the season, here are some of the city’s best concerts, carol services and Christmas events to get you in a thoroughly jolly mood.
Charity Events
Katterwall Community Carols 2011
Time to dig out your favorite Christmassy outfit and touch up your singing voice—Katterwall’s annual caroling event is just around the corner. In its fifth year, all money raised will go to Operation Santa Claus, a charity campaign organized by South China Morning Post and RTHK. Get ready to belt out all your holiday favorites, including “Silent Night,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” and “Away in a Manger.” You can buy a caroling booklet from 6:30pm for $60.

Carols by Candlelight
Help spread the Christmas cheer by visiting the Matilda Children’s Foundation’s Christmas fair. Listen to local students sing carols, visit Santa Claus, chomp down on some mince pies and gingerbread cookies, and admire their Christmas tree and fairy lights. A shuttle bus will run between the public transport terminus at the Peak Galleria and the hospital every 30 minutes from 5:30-8pm.
