IFC
With over 200 international fashion brands, a huge Apple store as well as various Chinese and western Michelin-starred eateries, you can’t go wrong with a shopping spree at IFC. This Christmas, IFC will be transformed into a “Fantasy Forest” inspired by bespoke haute couture and sophisticated art installations. Indoor snow machines will create a “White Christmas” setting, and more than 20 breathtaking Christmas trees will be found throughout the mall. From December 13 to 26, there will also be a professional crew from Australia specializing in aerial artistry and acrobatics performing their graceful moves in the mall. From now until December 26, shoppers spending $7,500 or more in one day will also receive a free gift and a $500 cash voucher from Georg Jensen.

Harbour City
Comprised of Ocean Terminal, Ocean Centre and Gateway Arcade, Harbour City is hands-down Hong Kong’s biggest mall. Launch yourself into a shopping extravaganza of over 450 shops, 50 restaurants, three hotels and two cinemas. You’ll find everything from electrical gadgets to expensive statement garments—just be prepared to walk. This Christmas, the mall is embracing romance with a “Love is All Around” theme. Shoppers get to feast their eyes on a festive merry-go-round as well as red-and-white balloon decor. The mall is also partnering up with Japanese brand Ribbonesia to feature a 10-meter tall giant gift box decorated with a multitude of colorful ribbons. Constant carolling and 40 Christmas trees throughout the mall will provide a cheerful backdrop for snap-happy shoppers. A limited edition 2013 calendar by New York artist Jeremyville will also be offered to all shoppers who make a donation to the Hong Kong Blood Cancer Foundation, Harbour City’s chosen charity.

Times Square
Famous for its magnificent displays and exhibitions during special occasions, sometimes one forgets that Times Square also has 230 stores offering fashion items and accessories, electronics and toys, two department stores, a supermarket and over 20 restaurants dishing out delicacies from across the globe. Between now and January, the mall will be celebrating Lego’s 80th anniversary by showcasing a Lego Christmas village on its piazza and atrium. Cleverly crafted with over one million Lego bricks, the village includes a book store, a steakhouse and a whole street featuring a parked tram, Santa’s sleigh and two giant Lego snowmen. Don’t miss Santa himself and the huge Lego Christmas tree and train!

CityPlaza
Enjoy a day of fun with the family at CityPlaza, Hong Kong Island’s biggest shopping hub. The wide variety of food, fashion and electronics shops, as well as Japanese department store Apita, will keep you at the mall for hours on end. This season, CityPlaza will transform into a sparkling Crystal Fairyland, complete with a mesmerizing mosaic crystal palace and garden where shoppers can catch a glimpse of festive fairies performing some Christmas hits on their instruments. Festival Walk
This mega-mall in Kowloon Tong is home to just about every product under the sun. Whether it’s chains or high-end fashion you’re after, this mall has you covered. Enjoy a fun day at one of the many restaurants, the multi-screen cinema, or a trip on the ice rink. This year’s Christmas celebrations at Festival Walk include its signature 70-foot crystal Christmas tree, topped with a giant crystal star—not to mention the millions of crystals decorating the rest of the mall. Festival Walk will also host Christmas parades led by Santa Claus, live carol singing and photo sessions at Santa’s Lodge.

Elements
Check out the plethora of mid-range to luxury fashion, jewelry and accessories brands as well as Hong Kong’s largest natural and organic food supermarket, all at West Kowloon’s super mall. This Christmas, shoppers at Elements will find themselves in a Christmas fairy tale garden, decorated by crochet artist Olek, whose innovative and striking works have been showcased around the world. Not only will Olek be crocheting squirrels, deer, mushrooms, butterflies and a lifelike Thumbelina, but she’ll also team up with some local youngsters to help crochet and decorate a giant Christmas tree. Installations will be on display from November 10 to January 1, but don’t miss out on the crochet workshop hosted by Olek on November 11. Score yourself a place in the workshop by spending $500 at Elements in one day, or by donating $50 to the designated charity organization.

Pacific Place
This very chic and modern shopping center is home to a whopping 140 high-end shops and restaurants, a flagship Harvey Nichols and four five-star hotels. Besides fashion stores and top-notch restos, there is also the dedicated Beauty Gallery on the first floor for all your skincare needs. During December, shoppers will be entertained by graceful ballerinas, improv performers and talented musicians on the grounds. There will of course be an opportunity to take some snaps with Santa himself and a chance to win free gifts if you spend over $3,800 in one day.

This mammoth shopping mall in Tuen Mun provides its 300,000 daily shoppers with over five stories’ worth of retail, entertainment and dining possibilities. There’s also a UA cinema to catch the latest movies. Head to TMT Plaza from now until the end of December to take in the sight of a spectacular 30-foot donut-themed Christmas tree and gigantic dreamland installations designed by artist John Ho.

Island Resort Mall is Hong Kong’s largest waterfront shopping mall. Telford Plaza
Telford Plaza is a massive mall in the heart of Kowloon East, and is home to more than 250 fashion, household, electronics and department stores. This year, artist Prudence Mak will bring to Telford Plaza her loveable Chocolate Rain characters and designs. Nearly 300 Fatina dolls (Chocolate Rain’s main character) made entirely of recycled materials will decorate the mall’s interior.

Olympian City
With over 250 fashion, beauty, health, home and luxury lifestyle shops, not to mention close to 40 restaurants, Olympian City really is a city in itself. This Christmas, the mall will host the first “Canstruction Competition” in Asia. Seven giant sculptures composed of at least 24,000 cans of food will be on show from now until January 1. Don’t miss the 18-foot Cantastic Christmas tree made with around 2,000 beverage cans. All canned food in the competition will be donated to local food banks around Hong Kong.
