The Xiqu bamboo stage will be transformed into a spectacular outdoor cinema, screening films inspired by the traditionally colourful medium that is Cantonese opera, such as "The Sassy Princess and Her Blunt Husband."

To further immerse you in the cultural experience, five local artists – Chu-Hing Wah, Gaylord Chan, Micheal Wolf, Samon Young and Henry Chu – will create four new contemporary artworks inspired by Cantonese opera, to be exhibited at the theatre.

The West Kowloon Bamboo Theatre will run from January 20th-24th kicking off the Lunar New Year Holiday. This will also be the first cultural event organised by the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, Hong Kong’s soon-to-be ‘cultural district.’
