Valentine's Day Dining Guide For Men
Got a dame to impress? No sweat. Derek Bullen offers up a guy’s guide to Valentine’s Day meals to suit all budgets.

Losing sleep over how to make Valentine’s Day super special this year? Didn’t think so. That’s why we’ve done all the hard work for you. We’ve picked some of the best and most interesting dining deals and put them in one place for you to choose from. Now all you need to do is hurry up and book before the seats are all gone.
The Greenery
If your date is a fan of seafood, you can’t go wrong with the very freshest in French brown crabs, New Zealand mussels and Boston lobster in the convivial, comfortingly traditional atmosphere of the Royal Garden’s buffet restaurant. Guests will also be served a champagne cocktail together with a wagyu sirloin and jumbo scallops, served to the table. To add to the romance (or cheese, depending on your worldview), you can even sing a duet dedicated to your loved one with the resident pianist, and also make a “love wish” on a helium balloon and send it high up into the hotel’s 110-foot atrium. The meal is $660 before 9pm and $508 thereafter—isn’t a late supper more romantic anyway?

g.e
With dishes such as “quinoa virtual risotto” and “pumpkins false tart,” this progressive, multi-sensory, nine-course tasting menu is a must-try for adventurous eaters who want their food to be unexpected as well as delicious. Any experience in g.e is unforgettable, and Valentine’s promises to be even more so. Dinner on the big V-Day is $1,999 for two, inclusive of two glasses of champagne and a gift for the ladies.

Loong Toh Yuen
The sweetest part of the meal is dessert, naturally, and they don’t get much sweeter than the adorable heart-shaped lychee and white chocolate mousse cake with rosewater and raspberry macarons that is being served at Hullett House in celebration of Valentine’s Day. The dessert is available at all of the hotel’s restaurants, but with its Asian influences, we think that it goes best with the meal at the Chinese restaurant, which is serving up stellar dishes in an eight-course menu that includes suckling pig and crispy shrimp rolls, Wagyu and fish maw roll in abalone sauce, and dry-braised tiger prawn in spicy garlic sauce, all at $1,380 per couple.
