I’m not sure how it looked before, but Jashan (1/F, Amber Lodge, 23 Hollywood Rd., Central, 3105-5300) has just come out of a major revamp and is back in business with some scrumptious deals on offer.
This Michelin-listed Indian restaurant not only has one of the best pomfret fillet dishes in the city ($138, marinated in mint chutney and wrapped in banana leaves, no less), but also one of the cheapest tea sets in Central.
At $120 for TWO PEOPLE, you’re entitled to four sets of snacks including crispy vegetable pakoras, curry dumplings and healthy-sounding steamed soycakes. You’ll also get an Indian dessert, like a coconut barfi (condensed milk cake) or a gulab jamun (deep-fried milk ball) and a cup of aromatic masala chai to end the meal. How sweet is that?
New chef Asif Iqbal has also created an impressive list of classic entrees, such as Mumbai-style roasted chicken, lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala to name a few.
