SL: As a player, they’re about achieving goals that I set myself as a local-born rugby player when I was much younger. I always wanted to play in the Sevens. For me it’s ticking those boxes and getting there and achieving everything I’ve worked hard for.
HK: How do you let off steam after an intense match?
SL: I just have a laugh and joke with the other guys on the team. At the Sevens I always make the effort to go over and see my parents and friends who have come to support. That’s a good way of getting away from all the rugby as well.
HK: Would you want your children to play rugby some day?
SL: No, no, I would much rather my daughter play tennis or golf or something!

FS: I have been every year since 1989. My favorite memory was when I played mini rugby, when the stadium was still the old Hong Kong stadium.
HK: What are the Hong Kong Sevens about for you?
FS: It is quite big for me because when I was young I wanted to play for Hong Kong in the Sevens, and also for the Hong Kong community, so they can see that local guys can play for the Hong Kong team. We can become role models for the youngsters.

SY: I first started playing rugby when I was 18 years old at a rugby summer course in England.
HK: What’s your best Sevens memory, both as a spectator and as a player?
SY: My best memory was the first time I scored a try at the Sevens. I never went to the Sevens before I played there!
