Songs for Children brings Electrelane to Hong Kong
Songs for Children—a partnership between UK DJs Jane Blondell and Mystery Mike—is hosting Electrelane at Youth Outreach, in Sai Wan Ho on Monday.

If you’re a fan of the hit UK series, Skins, you’ll know Electrelane—the all-female, British indie band whose songs feature in the series. Their work draws from a wide range of influences including Neu!, Stereolab, The Velvet Underground and Sonic Youth.
Electrelane’s second album, “The Power Out,” was produced by Steve Albini, the same powerhouse producer behind bands such as The Pixies, Nirvana and The Stooges. Since then, Electrelane has been on tour with Arcade Fire, The Beastie Boys and Le Tigre. Critics have hailed their live performances and records alike as being focused, intense and electrifying. Last year, they rocked Big Chill, Field Day and various shows in the European summer festival circuit. Having been on a hiatus of sorts since 2007, fans are hopeful that this is the electro girl-band’s big return tour.
