I have always found Hong Kong, despite its limited space, a fascinating city where the old and new and the east and west collide to create all these beautiful places for excellent photography. I recall having done this wedding photo-shoot for a couple on a piece of vacant, mice-infested land during sunset in Lai Chi Kok, the place where they first met many years before. That said, I have always made my clients’ safety a priority when it comes to choosing the photo-shoot venue.”
has the ability to capture people’s attention. It stops people in their tracks and makes them linger on the photo for more than a few seconds. I get a lot of new ideas and inspiration for my photography just by walking around town and through traveling. In the past year, I was able to travel to France, New York, Los Angeles, and Xi An and did a combination of client work and personal photo taking. Having the camera in hand actually enhances the traveling experience and makes me more attentive to detail and the people around me. Even when I’m in Hong Kong, I like to just pick a location and go shoot! I really enjoy taking photos of people and details. With shooting people, it’s all about timing and capturing the right moment. With details, it’s about noticing specific objects, lines, colors—and my favorite is capturing textures. Every situation and every interaction is different so the adrenaline rush comes from finding those details and feeling the moment. For engagement and wedding shoots, the rapport with the couple really sets the stage and the rest is being observant to the little moments that the couple share, the jokes and giggles, and the relationship with their family and friends around them. I usually like to capture some type of movement or ‘in-action’ shots. I think movement really brings out the energy and gives the sense that the story is going somewhere and leading the audience to that place. I hope to tell that story for my clients.”

The feelings experienced during such an incredible day are exactly the magic that helps me to make stunning images as a reflection of the day. I love getting to know my wedding couples; when we take time to connect it gives me a chance to experience their great love and bond. Building a connection with the wedding couple also ensures they feel relaxed with me, which translates into some incredible moments to capture. Some recent weddings I have worked on have been with amazing couples favoring a small intimate style—two such weddings were elopements! These were very exciting for me as I was honored to be a witness and photographer at the weddings.”
