It’s an all-too-common Hong Kong story. At the beginning of the week, you make a solemn vow to hit the great outdoors over the weekend and go on a nice, healthy hike. But come Friday night, the allure of happy hour drinks is too much to resist, and before you know it, it’s noon the next day and you can barely get out of bed to grab that bottle of hangover-quenching Pocari that’s juuuust out of reach. The hike is called off (again), and there’s nothing to be done except to go for brunch and have a Bloody Mary or three to take the edge off. Fortunately, we at HK feel your pain, which is why we’ve devised this handy list of awesome, low-impact walks that are easy on your poor bones and take no more than a couple of hours to complete. This way, you can have your weekend nights out and get out and do something active, too.

Lower Shing Mun Reservoir
For lazy folks who want to get up close and personal with nature without expending a lot of effort.

Mount Parker Road to Tai Tam Road
Part of the Hong Kong Trail the section that takes you from Mount Parker to Tai Tam Road is generally regarded as one of its easiest parts.

Waterfall Bay Park
Hidden away underneath Bel-Air, the main attraction of this park is (perhaps unsurprisingly) the tall waterfall that cascades down to a rocky, pebble- and flotsam-strewn beach below.

Wan Chai Gap Road to Wong Nai Chung Road
This hike features wide roads and fairly flat ground for the most part, making it a popular hike for local residents.

Bowen Road
Full of joggers and dog-walkers and shaded by leafy greenery, the four-kilometer way is clearly marked and offers stellar views of the city, harbor and mountains.
