Celebrate World Animal Day with SPCA
World Animal Day was first started in 1931 to raise awareness of endangered animal species. It is celebrated annually on October 4.

In honor of this year’s World Animal Day, the SPCA (HK) has launched an “Animal Friendly Campus Award ‘Student Ambassador Programme 2012’” which will be taking place on October 6. The day will consist of activities for students and members of the public, to create awareness for the care and protection of animals.
The aim of World Animal Day is to commemorate humankind’s relationship with animals and to recognize and to be thankful for the roles that animals play in our lives.
Hong Kong is blessed with beautiful and rare wildlife that needs to be protected. For World Animal Day, SPCA (HK) encourages the public to take careful consideration and to properly plan for pets, to be a responsible pet owner and to recognize and report any animal cruelty that you see.
Join in the fun and support World Animal Day with SPCA on Saturday October 6 at East Point Road in Causeway Bay (next to Sogo) from 2–6pm. The stage programme will take place from 2:30-3:30pm with special guests Sandy Macalister (Executive Director of SPCA) and Hong Kong Ambassador of World Animal Day, Rosemary V, Jocelyn Luko and Anthony Sandstrom.
