I’m desperately trying to shape up for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon next year. I train at the Jockey Club racetrack in Happy Valley, but am having a hard time calculating the actual distance I run every day. Can you tell me the official track distance?

Rather you than me! The outer stone track is approximately 1,400 meters, while the inner jogging track measures 1,000 meters from start to finish. If you need some extra help with your training regime, HK Distance Runners Club (www.hkdrc.org) provides occasional training courses to help runners prepare for all kinds of races, including marathons.
