Christmas Special: Chocolate Spa Treatments, Hotel Specials and Recommended Beauty Gift Boxes

Spa-Tacular Christmas Specials
Whether you’re looking to take a break from the ravages of Christmas shopping (and garroting yourself with a bit of tinsel isn't an option), or are attending a party that you want to look your best for, the spas around town are offering a host of festive specials. Read on for a few of my favorites.
Best Foot Forward
Strappy party sandals need well-tended feet to go in them, so check out the Spa at the Four Seasons’ “Twinkle Toes Foot Ritual.” The 60-minute treatment starts with a lower leg and foot exfoliation, followed by a festive chocolate foot mask. A file and polish leaves your toes ready to step out in style. Available until the end of January.
$560 for 60 minutes. Available at the Four Seasons Spa, Four Seasons Hotel, 8 Finance St., Central, 3196-8888.
Chocolovin’
Quan Spa at the SkyCity Marriott has an extremely sweet chocolate spa ritual this year—perfect if you’ve got a sweet tooth but need to wriggle into something slinky come New Year’s Eve. The aromatic treatment begins with a body scrub, followed by a foot bath. A 60-minute massage completes the treatment, after which you’ll be served champagne and chocolates. How very festive!
$1,580 for 105 minutes. Available at Quan Spa, 1/F, SkyCity Marriott Hotel, Sky City Road East, Chek Lap Kok, 3969-2192.
Get LBD-Ready
Throughout December, the MiraSpa in The Mira hotel is offering a two-hour treatment created by Aromatherapy Associates in collaboration with dress designer Roland Mouret. The “Little Black Dress Indulgence” combines a scrub, massage and facial that promises to leave skin glowing. After the scrub, which sloughs off rough skin, you’ll get a warm oil massage to relax and relieve muscle aches. Then, an express facial offers deep cleaning, while an oil-based face massage tones and lifts. To finish, the therapist will apply a subtly shimmering serum to your shoulders and back for a bit of festive sparkle—and you’ll even get a bottle of the serum to take home.
$1,600 for two hours. Available at MiraSpa, The Mira Hong Kong, 118 Nathan Rd., Tsim Sha Tsui, 2315-5500.
Toasty Toes

I’m loving this ultra-festive treatment from the Mandarin Oriental’s salon. This 75-minute treatment starts with a cinnamon and cranberry foot bath. After your toenails are buffed and filed, you’ll get a leg and foot exfoliation with a blend of cranberry, apples, oranges, raisins and sugar. After that, apricot body oil will be massaged into the legs and then, finally, the nails are painted. Oh, and you’ll also be treated to a hot cup of mulled wine or a cranberry juice to sip as you’re being looked after. You can even buy it as a gift voucher for a friend. Available until January 31.
$525 for 75 minutes. Available at The Mandarin Salon, 5 Connaught Rd., Central, 2522-0111.
Winter Healing

Less glitter and chocolate and more herbal and healing, Chuan Spa at the Langham Place hotel is offering a “Clove Thermal Balm Treatment” that combines a signature balancing massage with a gentler all-over rub using clove-infused herbal compresses. If you love the Christmassy scent of pomander balls, then this restorative therapy will leave you feeling very merry indeed. On offer until December 31.
$1,088 for 90 minutes. Available at Chuan Spa, 41/F, Langham Place Hotel, 555 Shanghai St., Mong Kok, 3552-3388.
A Green Christmas
I’ve got beauty box sets up the wazoo right now, so I’m going to share them over the course of two weeks. It’s no secret that I absolutely love giving (and getting!) beauty coffrets—everyone needs to wash, and the gorgeous packaging definitely lends a sense of occasion. This week I’m focusing on ecological and organic products.
