Where can I sell second-hand diamond and gold jewelry?

Dear Mr. Know-It-All,

I want to sell some of my diamond jewelry as well as gold. I would appreciate if you could send me the contact of the person who buys secondhand jewelry. I read it once in your sister publication The List and can’t seem to find that edition.

The contact you are talking about is Circa (Suite 1422, Princes Building, 10 Chater Rd., Central, 2810-8887), which is an international fine jewelry, diamond and watch buyer. Contact them to schedule a private and cost-free appointment to value your goods. If you get an offer and you decide to take it, it’s an immediate, commission-free payment, too. My sources tell me they are more keen on rare, vintage pieces than shop-bought jewelry though, so do keep that in mind. There are also tons of local dealers buying secondhand jewelry—but it’s easy to get ripped off if you don’t know the right ones. For diamond jewelry, you should be able to get a good price by selling them at where you got them originally (if you still have the receipt). If not, go to Brand Off (G/F Wing Lock House, 16 Peking Rd., Tsim Sha Tsui, 2732-2065, www.brandoff.com.hk) where they buy and sell secondhand luxury goods including jewelry; be sure to bring the certificates for a better price (if you still have them). As for selling gold, head to Goldenway (Room 501, Yin Nin Building, 29 Austin Rd., Jordan, 3719-9339, www.24k.hk/bestprice) which is a well-established company that offers a one-stop gold selling service, including free authentication.
