Sort Out Your Summer

Food & Drink

Eat and drink your way through the summer.

HKTDC Food Expo 2013
Jostle your way through the crowds at the annual Food Expo. Part trade gathering, part public orgy, you’ll find the craziest and the randomest snacks at more than 350 booths. Chili sauces, organic snacks, teas, cheese-flavored ice-cream, sea urchin, instant noodles—you name it, and we’ll be damned if there isn’t someone selling it. You’ll be able to sample some goods, but be prepared to bulk-buy when you’re there. Good luck finding your way out.

August 15-19, HKCEC, 1 Expo Drive, Wan Chai, www.hktdc.com/fair/hkfoodexpo-en.

K-Food Party

Party and binge at the first K-Food Party, a three-day cultural affair with food stalls and music. Taste your way through giant oysters, jujubes (red dates, not gummy candies), quirky Korean snacks, kimchi, Korean beer, soju and even veggies and fruits at the exhibitors’ booths. Then catch some awesome breakdancing, martial arts and traditional Korean music.

June 20-22, Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza, Tsim Sha Tsui, 3487 563.

Masters of Mixology
Need another excuse to get blackout-drunk? Do it in style by attending a Masters of Mixology event at the MO Bar. For three nights, the top bartenders from around the world—including New York Tiki bar king Brian Miller—will be mixing for guests while they enjoy a four-course meal at MO Bar’s private function room. Sample everything from classics to molecular cocktails, depending on the theme of the night.

June 11-14. The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, 15 Queen’s Rd. Central, 2132-0077, www.mandarinoriental.com/landmark.
