Shark Week may have just finished, but that doesn’t mean that your toothy fun has to end just yet. Uber-fancy resort The One&Only Cape Town has just launched a “Close Encounter Experience” package that introduces guests to nature’s toothier inhabitants.
The resort is a 25-minute ride away from shark- and whale-watching hotspot False Bay, and guests will be accompanied into a custom-built catamaran while Great White Shark expert and photographer Chris Fallows guides you through cage dives or photo safaris, trying his best not to get you eaten.
The idea is to educate as well as titillate, so you’ll get to see a huge range of wildlife as well as some predatory action. There’s also fine dining, private wine tastings, aquarium shark dives and surfing lessons—presumably, that last one doesn't happen with sharks.
Packages are tailor-made for each guest: three nights starts at around ZAR26,550 ($20,800).
