Only SKOL glass bottle in 640ml and Carlsberg glass bottle (Green Label) 500ml with a best before label of September 29, 2014 or September 30, 2014 are affected. Carlsberg expects to recall around 60,000 bottles of SKOL and 20,400 bottles of Carlsberg.

The brand's spokesperson Emma Yeung says to us that they found a potential possibility that small pieces of glass are present inside the bottles during a routine regular checkup at their Huizhou factory. She has no further information on how the glass pieces got into the bottle.

Carlsberg says there are currently no consumer complaints. “We have informed the government yesterday,” Yeung says. “And we have not received any reported cases.”

“Once we found out the potential issue, we have decided to act proactively and employ every single measure to ensure the safety of consumers,” Yeung says, adding that the company does vigorous testing and sampling.

Carlsberg asks consumers with affected bottles to not drink from them and return the bottles at any chain supermarkets or convenience stores to get a refund or product replacement. For enquiries, please call Carlsberg at 3189-8282 between 9am to 8pm.
