Looking back, the era of the Four Heavenly Kings era is odd: because out of Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok and Leon Lai, only Cheung could really sing (or act). But man, did they dominate showbiz.
2. Beyond
This legendary 80s and 90s rock band brought a political edge to their lyrics which has kept them popular even today.

“Lazy Mutha Fucka” were pioneers of Cantonese hip-hop, filling a huge gap in the music scene with their grassroots identity and socially conscious (and obscene) lyrics.
5. Sam Hui Koon-kit
Hui popularized Cantopop with his use of Cantonese slang, simple but addictive melodies and grassroots themes. His theme from “The Private Eyes” (1976) is the ultimate working class song.
6. Teresa Carpio
Now a celebrity singing coach, the English-language pop singer was a big hit in the 70s.
