Tried and Tested: Top Spas in Thailand
From chic city retreats to lush escapes, we’ve tested out a few spas that are worth visiting on your next Thai holiday.

Bangkok
The Peninsula Spa
First Impressions: The three-story, 14-room spa house at The Peninsula is located in its own building next to the hotel pool. It’s all dark woods and modern Thai flourishes, with sensuous candles leading the way to your treatment room.
Signature Treatment: With some of the most highly trained therapists in Bangkok (all the masseuses and beauticians here have to undergo a 10-week training program with the Pen before they’re let loose on guests), any treatment here is going to be pretty special. If you’re traveling to Bangkok in the next month, there’s a great summer promotion on from now until the end of June: the Summer Splash includes a 30-minute body scrub, a 50-minute aromatic body massage, and afternoon tea in the lobby, all for THB3,800 ($908).
Bonus Indulgence: Spa-ing with a friend or partner? Upgrade to one of the spa’s vast couples’ suites, which feature a huge hydrotherapy bath, steam room and rain shower—sip on a fresh coconut and chill for half an hour before your treatment.
The Peninsula Bangkok, 333 Charoennakorn Rd., Klongsan, Bangkok, (+66) 2861-2888, www.bangkok.peninsula.com.

Opium Spa by Sodashi
First Impressions: A vast, elegant space with double-height ceilings, The Siam’s Opium Spa is bathed in natural light.
