Why you can trust SCMP

HK Magazine: Are you fans of ABBA yourselves?
Natalie Langston (plays Donna, mother of Sophie): I grew up with ABBA’s music when I was a kid, and it always played in nightclubs when I was younger too.
Niamh Perry (plays Sophie): I remember the ABBA Gold album always being on in the kitchen on a Sunday when my mum was cooking the roast dinner and I was doing my homework. I remember it really clearly and I’ve known the words forever. But I first saw the show when the international tour started in Dublin, and that was the first show that I’d seen which made me want to do this as a career. So it’s really special for me.
Sally Frith (plays Ali, friend of Sophie): It’s such uplifting music, you can’t dislike it.
HK: What are your favorite songs?
NP: I really like “Winner Takes It All,” but I also like “Lay All Your Love On Me,” or “Name of the Game.”
SF: “Name of the Game”—I really love that. During that song, we’re in the back in a “freeze” position, and it’s very hard not to join in!
